The oil

One ingredient. One intention.

Kashmir

From the orchards of Kashmir.

The almonds come from family orchards in the Kashmir valley, grown at altitude where the cold winters and thin mountain air produce a nut with exceptional oil content. These are not commodity almonds sourced through bulk procurement channels. They are almonds we know the origin of.

Over several years, we have built direct relationships with a small network of growers — people who tend the same trees their parents tended. Real traceability does not come from a certificate. It comes from knowing the name of the person who picked the almonds.

Kashmiri almonds grow in high-altitude orchards with natural irrigation and no chemical intervention. Indigenous to the valley, they have thrived wild and untended for generations. We don't carry an organic certificate — the almonds simply never needed one.

The press

Cold-pressed once.

The almonds are pressed in small batches using a cold-press method that keeps temperatures low throughout the extraction. Heat destroys the delicate fatty acids and volatile compounds that give almond oil its character. We keep the process cold so that none of that is lost.

The oil is pressed exactly once. Many commercial operations re-press the residue — the spent almond cake — to extract the last fraction of oil. We do not. The first pressing yields the clearest, most characterful oil. The press runs once. What the almond gives in that single pressing is the oil you hold.

The filter

Naturally filtered.

After pressing, the oil is left to settle and then passed through muslin cloth by gravity alone. No pumps, no pressure, no industrial filtration equipment. Just cloth and time. The fine particles that make the oil slightly hazy when freshly pressed gradually separate, leaving it clear and clean.

The oil is never refined, never bleached, never deodorised. Industrial refining extends shelf life but strips out the natural vitamin E, oleic and linoleic acids, and the faint, warm fragrance of the almond itself. What remains after refining is technically almond oil — but it is not this.

Questions

The things people ask.

Yes. This is pure, food-grade cold-pressed almond oil manufactured under FSSAI registration. It can be used in cooking, drizzled over salads, or taken by the spoonful. No additives. Nothing hidden.

Most commercial almond oils are solvent-extracted and then refined — deodorised, bleached, and heat-treated to extend shelf life. Ours is cold-pressed once and gravity-filtered through muslin cloth. Nothing added, nothing removed. The difference is immediate the moment you smell it.

Keep it in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight — a kitchen cabinet or pantry works well. No refrigeration needed. Use within 6 months of opening for the best flavour and potency.

Pure almond oil has been used for infant massage for generations across Kashmir and across the subcontinent. Since this oil is single-ingredient with no additives or preservatives, it is gentle enough for babies. A small patch test first is always a good idea. Please consult your paediatrician if you have any concerns.
